SP2 Magnetometer for Compass DI function
The SP-2 contains a three axis magnetic field sensor and a 2 axis accelerometer. Featuring a high resolution 16 bit measurement system a powerful ATMega processor is used to output tilt compensated heading information. If a SP-4 AHRS is used on the same airtalk communications link, tilt compensation can be performed using gyro data.

I O Extender
This device connects to the airtalk link of an Enigma, Odyssey or Voyager EFIS system. This allows you to extend the EFIS with comprehensive digital and anlogue signal monitoring as well as driving automation and alarm annunciator panels. The I/O Extender is also used to allow remote control of certain EFIS functions via joystick mounted push buttons etc.
Please click HERE for the I O Extender manual.
Please click HERE for the program used to create and edit script files for use with the I/O Extender. Script files are used to specify functionality for inputs and outputs as required for your application.

EGT Probes - screw-in type
Our top quality, high temperature EGT probe. This unit can be used up to 1200 degrees C (2000 degrees F) short-term and 1100 degrees C indefinitely.
Made from 316 grade stainless steel the probe will remain solid at high temperatures making this an excellent choice for turbo charged high performance engines.
The bolt has a 8x1 thread (Metric fine thread) as used by Rotax for their exhaust manifolds. The bolt is made from high tensile steel and is compatible with mild steel exhaust systems from a temperature expansion rate point of view
The probe is fitted with a 3ft 7in, stainless steel armoured, mineral fibre insulated cable and is a "K-type" thermocouple.
|
EGT Probes with Clamp
This EGT probe is the same spec as the one above, but is designed for use in standard exhausts with no pre-existing fitting.
Two sizes are available, a smaller one for Rotax and Jabiru type exhausts and a larger one for Lycoming and Continental styles. Both have 3ft 10in of steel armoured cable.
Just drill a 5 mm hole in the exhaust pipe, as a good guide, on most engines it is 100 mm down from the exhaust flange (refer to engine manufacturer for exact location). Insert the probe and and clamp in place.

Screw Type CHT probes
K Type thermocouple
3/8"-24 thread

CHT Probes in 10, 12, 14 and 18mm size
Currently we offer four different versions of our CHT probes. These are all "K-type" thermocouples and they come in sizes 10mm, 12mm, 14mm and 18mm. The sizes refer to the thread diameter of the spark plug the probes are used on. Most automotive engines and Rotax two strokes use 14mm plugs, the Jabiru engines and Rotax 912/914 use 12mm plugs. Lycomings and Continentals use 18mm plugs. The 10mm ring can be used under bolts to measure such things as gearbox temp.
The probes are supplied with 3ft 7in of fibre glass insulated cable, heat resistant to 300 degrees C.

GT-1 Gear Tooth Speed Sensor and 1K resistor
The GT1 sensor is typically used in applications where RPM can be obtained from gear teeth sensing. It can also be used to measure rotor speed RPM at the pre-rotation gear of an Autogyro aircraft. The GT1 is primarily used with the RV-1 and RV-2 units but can also be used with all Stratomaster instruments for RPM measurement.
A 1K resistor is supplied and is shown in the instrument wiring diagrams

MGL Clip-On Ferrites
Warning: Beware of ferrite suppressors sold in many electronic shops or mail order catalogues. Nearly all of them are made from Manganese-zinc or Iron powder and have little effect at VHF frequencies (100Mhz or higher).
MGL supply high quality German made Nickel-zinc (NiZn) ferrites optimised for operation at VHF airband frequencies and effective to over 1Ghz.
Clip-on ferrite with 6.25mm internal diameter.

Transorb Surge Protector
This device is used for effective overvoltage protection of sensitive electronic equipment on your aircraft.
Sometimes several thousand volts can be induced in electrical systems when operating devices such as starter motors or solenoids. The surge protector clamps these voltages to an acceptable level suitable for electronic equipment.
Note: Install between the +v and -v wires feeding the instrument bus. Not fitting such a device has been responsible for considerable damage occurring to radios and other electronic equipment on aircraft.
You can read more about the Transorb HERE

10,000uF Electrolytic Capacitor
This 10 000uF electrolytic capacitor is an inexpensive and useful addition to your radio's power supply. It can significantly reduce, or even remove, noise signals such as ignition noise or rectifier/regulator noise.
Note: the capacitor must be installed as close as possible to the radio. The shorter terminal on the capacitor is -ve. Connect this to the negative power lead and the longer terminal to the +ve power lead.

LM335 Temp Probe
.This is the ambient temperature probe included as standard with any of our instruments that support ambient temperature measurements.
This probe is available as a replacement but it is also a popular choice if you need to make your own coolant or oil temperature probes. In this case you use the brass body of an existing probe that fits your engines requirments. Open, or drill out this probe and remove everything that is inside (so you end up with a empty brass body withe the correct dimensions and thread). Then insert our LM335 probe and ensure that the probe body contacts the brass body (to ensure rapid temperature transfer ). Then use a oil resistant epoxy to seal the probe inside the brass body.
