Hyacinths
We have selected our own favourite varieties, chosen for their richness of colour (and scent, of course!). We normally use them in containers in their first year, preferring to plant them out in subsequent years, when the flowers have reverted to a more informal form, suited to naturalistic plantings.
This year, we are again offering multiflora hyacinths - equally strongly scented but with a more informal appeal. We supplied bulbs to 'Which' Gardening Magazine for their trials this year, where they gained a welcome recommendation, which should promote their popularity.

Hyacinthus multiflorus Blue
Multiflora hyacinths produce (as their name suggests) several flowering stems to each bulb. Individual flowers are more widely spaced, producing a lovely, informal effect, which works equally well in the border and in containers (indoors & out).
